Yesterday would have been my Papa Sonny’s 96th birthday. 🥹🎂🪽
He’s the one I got my entrepreneurial spirit from. For decades following his retirement from Dallas Fire Dept., he owned “Sonny’s Caps & Tees”. If you grew up in or around our hometown, chances are he made shirts, hats, or uniforms for you or someone you know. 🥰
He took so much pride in his work, and he understood that something as simple as a shirt could bring people together, build school spirit, celebrate milestones, and create memories.
As I’ve been pressing shirt orders over the past couple of weeks, I couldn’t help but get a little emotional. It hit me that this new addition isn’t random at all. In so many ways, it’s always been part of my story.
Maybe that’s why I care so much about getting every detail right. It’s never just been about ink on fabric. It’s about creating something special that people are excited to wear, something that helps them celebrate, belong, or simply smile.
Today I’m especially thankful for the reminder that our stories have a way of coming full circle. I never expected to find myself pressing shirts, but it’s been such a sweet connection to my Papa & the work he loved so much.
Happy Birthday, Papa Sonny. We love & miss you! ❤️
