Well… Pumpkin Shadows had other plans.

The loaf came out looking great, the colors were right, the cuts looked good—and then I realized the black line between the layers was just a little too thick.

Once the bars were cut, they started separating right along that line.

So this batch won’t make it into the Halloween collection.

Not ideal, but that’s part of making things by hand. Sometimes a batch turns out exactly how you pictured it, and sometimes it gives you a very clear lesson.

I know what I need to change, so Pumpkin Shadows is getting another round.

And judging by the last bar in the video… it may have a few opinions about that.

After a few weeks away, we’re back at the worktable—and Vanilla Mint felt like a pretty good way to jump back in.

This batch started with tallow, beeswax, and shea butter, then turned into 50 tubes that were poured, capped, labeled, and heat sealed by hand.

It’s one of those little products that takes a surprising number of steps, but that’s part of what we love about making things in small batches.

Vanilla Mint is officially restocked and ready to go.

I’ve had people asking what we were going to call this bar, and for the longest time, I honestly didn’t know.

Then, on the way to our aunt’s funeral, a song came on the radio called “Patchwork.”

And that was it.

My mom was an avid quilter, but more than that, she was creative, funny, quirky, and always making something with her hands. She made quilts, patches, my Christmas stocking, Halloween costumes when we were kids, and so many other things that became part of our lives.

She taught me that being creative doesn’t have to mean being perfect. It can be colorful, a little unusual, completely homemade, and made with a lot of heart.

I think a lot of that stayed with me.

It’s part of why I enjoy creating things now, why I’m not afraid to try something a little different, and why handmade will always mean something more to me than simply making a product.

So this bar is Patchwork.

Not because of the pieces of soap inside it, although the name happens to fit pretty well.

It’s because sometimes a name finds you at exactly the right moment and reminds you where a little piece of your own creativity came from.

The porch light is on, the candy bowl is ready, and the final Halloween bar is officially in the mold.

This is Trick or Treat, the fourth and final soap in our Love & Kittle Halloween Collection.

I wanted this one to feel playful, colorful, and just a little chaotic—basically Halloween night in soap form.

The colors are mixed, the swirls are in, and the top is finished… but I’m not giving away the surprise yet.

No cutting. No peeking.

All four Halloween bars are now made, and the full reveal is getting closer.

So come back soon to see what’s been hiding inside the entire collection.

Something is lurking in the woods…

This is Spooky Woods, one of four limited bars coming to the Love & Kittle Halloween Collection this October.

The oils are mixed, the colors are in, and the swirls are hiding whatever decided to creep into this batch.

But I’m not cutting it open for you just yet.

Spooky Woods is staying hidden until all four Halloween bars are ready for the full reveal.

So for now, whatever is waiting between the trees can stay there.

Something is stirring in the graveyard.

This is Graveyard Fog, one of four limited bars coming to the Love & Kittle Halloween Collection this October.

I wanted this one dark, murky, and full of movement, like fog creeping between old headstones after midnight.

It’s poured, swirled, and currently buried away for the night.

What’s hiding inside?

Not telling yet.

You’ll have to come back when I dig it up and make the first cut.

Apparently we’ve decided it’s Halloween already… and I’m not mad about it.

This is Pumpkin Shadows, one of the bars coming to our Love & Kittle Halloween Collection.

We’re starting these batches now so they have plenty of time to cure before October, and this one is officially in the mold. You’ll have to come back for the cut, because I’m not giving away the inside just yet.

The Halloween collection will be available for a limited time during October, so this is your first little preview of what’s coming.
