September Story Time at Edmonds bookshop will be led by Tacoma children' s author, Mary Boone!

On Friday, September 25th at 9:30 am, children’s author Mary Boone will be reading her picture book, “Pedal Pusher: How One Woman's Bicycle Adventure Helped Change the World”, which tells the story of a woman who rode a bicycle around the world - in 1894! 🚲

She also has an upcoming new release, “The Flying Feminist:The First Woman to Build and Fly Her Own Plane” ✈️ More about Mary and her books can be found at

Whitney Popa and her son Oliver, both children’s picture-book authors, will both be signing their newly published works at Edmonds Bookshop on Sunday, September 6, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 pm.

Oliver Popa will be signing second book, “Am I a Planet?: A kids' book about Pluto” (published on August 24, 2026 and illustrated by Elisabeth Sung.) “Am I a Planet” is a humorous story about Pluto’s demotion from planet status, a “laugh-out-loud journey about identity, friendship, and belonging,”

Whitney Popa is an author, editor, and founder of Our West Press. Her latest publication is a picture book about a mother and daughter, Mama Lifts, that “encourages body positivity, healthy habits, and active lifestyles for families. Ideal for children of health-conscious moms, fitness-loving families, or anyone raising strong daughters who see strength as something to celebrate. Mama Lifts” is illustrated by Silver Velvet.

It’s tomorrow!!! August Story Time at Edmonds Bookshop will be led by children’s author/illustrator Corinna Luyken who will be reading her latest picture book “Hello, Ocean” on Friday, August 28th at 9:30 am. After the story, she will teach kids how to make a fish magnet from a bottle cap 🐠!
