Book Empress Used Books sells high-quality used books in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and serves all of Atlantic County. Founded in June 2023 by avid book lover Leona Konkel, we sell high-quality used books in addition to new books and book-related items. We're your friendly, local, online & pop-up bookstore, with a brick-and-mortar location to follow. PSA of something everyone should already know: some eBay sellers know nothing about what they're selling. Anyone selling something collectible should be able to tell you why it's collectible.

I got some cool Stephen King hardcovers from an estate sale on Friday, including Carrie. Cover's the first edition, but it's a book club reprint. I know because I've spent a bit of time looking it up. Mine's a book club reprint, likely late 80s/early 90s, with no number line, no gutter code. I can't tell you exactly when it was printed, but I can tell you when it WASN'T.

It surprises me how much money people shell out on items that may or may not be what they're listed as - and are in subpar condition to boot. Mine is pristine, except that it's from a smoker's home.
