For the last 15 years, my job has been finding incredible vintage pieces. I learned the makers, the quality, the history, the value. Those things still matter.
But live selling has taught me there’s another skill I have to learn.
When someone walks through an estate sale, they discover things for themselves. They pick them up. They ask questions. They make connections.
On a live stream, I have to recreate that experience through a camera.
That means it isn’t enough for me to know what something is anymore.
I want to share why it mattered. Why someone kept it. Why it survived. Why I stopped and smiled when I found it.
Sometimes that’s about craftsmanship.
Sometimes it’s about design.
Sometimes it’s about the way an ordinary object can quietly remind us of a different way of living.
I’m still learning how to do that.
And honestly… I think that’s the part I’m falling in love with.

Stories Under the Olive Tree is back today. 🌿
One of my favorite parts of these shows is that I truly never know what’s going to end up becoming someone’s new favorite thing. Maybe it’s a piece of glowing uranium glass, a forgotten piece of pottery, a quirky collectible, or something none of us expected.
That’s the magic of estate finds—every piece had a life before it found its way here.
So grab a cup of tea (or something stronger... I won’t judge 😉), come pull up a chair under the olive tree, and let’s see what treasures are waiting today.

Before matching spice jars… before alphabetized pantries… there was a little black-and-gold Crown Colony tin tucked somewhere in the cupboard.
