Cactus Flower Bookery

Hey Friends

We have a little schedule change coming up next week! Stephanie & Shirleen will be out of town for a few days, so the Bookery will be closed Tuesday–Thursday, October 6-8.

But we’ll be OPEN Friday, Saturday & Sunday with our very own substitute bookseller, Shaun (Stephanie’s brother)!

If you’re out and about, stop in, say hi, grab a book, and help us make sure he survives his bookstore debut. 😂

This Week’s New Releases!

We’ve been busy adding more new books to our online shop, including September releases, bestsellers, and the first books coming out in October.

If you’re looking for your next read, take a peek at what’s new — and remember, Cactus Flower Bookery sells new books too and can even ship them directly to you!

October Is Getting Spooky

We’re working on some fun things for October — spooky reads, new arrivals, crafts, and a very special candlelit evening we can’t wait to tell you more about.

More details coming soon! 🌙👻

Thank you, as always, for supporting our little bookstore, shopping small, coming to our events, and keeping Cactus Flower going. We appreciate you more than you know. 💚

Happy reading! 🌸📚

Hi friends!

We’re back at the Bookery and slowly getting caught up after being closed last week. Thank you so much to everyone who reached out, checked on us, and gave us a little grace while we took some time to be with our family. Your kindness has meant more to us than you know.

Now we’re getting back into the swing of things, and we have a few things happening at the Bookery that we don’t want you to miss!

Try Something New This Week!

Have you ever tried Kinusaiga? This traditional Japanese art form uses colorful pieces of fabric tucked into grooves to create beautiful, textured artwork—no sewing required! Join us this Sunday and create your own piece to take home. No experience needed, all materials are included, and we’ll walk you through it step by step!

🏒 Happy Release Day, Amy Briggs!

Offside is officially out! We’re so excited to have been one of Amy Briggs’ bookstore partners for the launch of the Phoenix Sidewinders hockey romance series. If hockey players + romance + a little spice sound like your kind of reading, this one’s for you.

Almost Sold Out! 🧙📚

Our Book Page Witch Workshop is almost full! If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now’s the time to grab one of the remaining spots before it’s sold out!

Looking for a book club that doesn’t keep you out late? Gilded Girls is all about making friends, connecting, and talking books! This month we’re revisiting children’s books—bring a childhood favorite or discover something new.

We’re so happy to be getting back into the swing of things at the Bookery, and we hope to see some familiar (and new!) faces in the coming weeks. Thank you, as always, for shopping small, showing up for our events, and supporting this little bookstore of ours. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

Happy reading! 🌸📚

September at the Bookery

September is here, and we have a FULL calendar at Cactus Flower Bookery! 🌸 This month we’re making art with flowers and book pages, trying our hand at a traditional Japanese art form, revisiting childhood favorites with Gilded Girls, welcoming back one of our favorite spooky-season crafts, and—of course—talking plenty of books.

Whether you want to make something, meet new people, or just spend a little more time surrounded by books, we hope you’ll find something on the calendar for you. Take a look at what’s coming up and save your spot!

September Events

Sunday, September 6 • 6:00
Flowers + old book pages = a pretty perfect evening. 🌿📖 Join us for a Pressed Botanical Art Workshop where we’ll use real pressed flowers, greenery, and repurposed book pages to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art on canvas. No artistic experience needed, and all materials are included!

Sunday, September 13 • 4 PM

Try your hand at Kinusaiga, a traditional Japanese art form that creates colorful, textured pictures by tucking fabric into grooves—no sewing required! We’ll guide you through creating your own unique fabric artwork to take home.

Sunday, September 27 • 4 PM

She’s back! 🧙📚 One of our favorite spooky-season crafts returns! Transform an old book into your very own book-page witch, just in time to display her all October long. We’ll provide the materials and walk you through creating this wonderfully bookish bit of Halloween décor.

Tuesday, September 22 • 4:30 PM

Our earlier-in-the-day book club is for women who want to connect, make friends, and talk books! September’s theme is Children’s Books—choose a modern kids’ book or revisit a favorite from your own childhood. There’s no assigned title; just read something that fits the theme and come ready to chat!

That’s what’s happening at the Bookery this September, and we hope we’ll see you at an event (or two!) this month! And remember, you can always shop our online store or request a book you’ve been looking for—if we don’t have it on our shelves, we’re happy to help you find it.

Thank you, as always, for shopping small, showing up for our events, and supporting your local independent bookstore. It means more to us than you know.

Happy reading!
