IT’S CALLED TEAMWORK – A prior customer came in, only to find that his usual representative was away. Just like family, another sales professional stepped up. The project involved getting a ’69 Dodge Dart up to speed to give to the customer’s son. With the same sense of family and attention to detail, we put together a great system consisting of Kicker LX amps, AudioControl speakers and a Sony radio in an under-dash kit. Our skilled install tech did a great job on the kick panel and back-package-tray speakers. We had this Dart pounding with a pair of Kicker CompQ 10 subwoofers! ROCKIN’ THE DUNES – The owner of a Polaris Pro RZR came in with a factory-stock sound system. This is his second RZR, and the owner called the current system “very underwhelming,” complaining that it distorted when turned up. He asked about adding additional speakers and an amp to bring up the total volume and clarity. Because we work on a lot of similar toys, knew exactly what to add to really bring this Polaris to life. We installed the AudioControl ACX300.4 UTV amplifier to deliver clean power and linked it to two pairs of Kicker 45KM654L marine speakers. We installed one pair in a door pod that was made by SSV Works and installed the second pair in 6.5-inch cage pods that mount to the roll bar. Upon completion our customer said this is exactly what he was looking for. He left excited to hit the trails and let everyone hear what a RZR should sound like. A car audio lover who has been coming to Audio Express in East El Paso for years brought in his boat this time. Because he always comes back to us for any of his audio needs, we knew he wanted the best brand and an awesome experience. The answer for reliable entertainment on the water is JL Audio. To build the world’s finest marine speakers, all materials, assemblies and completed systems are tested using advanced salt-fog and UV test equipment, which simulate years of exposure to the elements. Engineering, environmental testing and assembly all take place in Miramar, FL. We started by installing three pairs of JL Audio M3650XSGWi Marine 6.5-inch two-way coaxial speakers. All the speakers are powered with a JL Audio marine amplifier M600/6, six-channel amplifier. Then came the JL Audio M310IBSGW4 10-inch marine subwoofers, built for real marine duty. These infinite-baffle subwoofers are designed to operate without a dedicated enclosure to produce full sound with moderate power. We chose the JL Audio M600/1 marine mono amplifier. Control and input for the system comes from the JL Audio MM100SBE marine receiver. The customer was very happy, not just with the look, but with the amazing sound. An audio lover could not stand the sound of the factory car speakers in his Cadillac ATS any longer, so he came to our Lee Trevino location to consult with the experts. Since he was keeping the factory radio, we started the re-design with a JL Audio FIX86. This powerful 24-bit digital signal processor with quad 1/3 octave equalizers prepares front and rear signals for upgraded systems. Channels are combined and level matched automatically into front, rear and subwoofer outputs with automatic time correction. That set the stage for a JL Audio XD400/4v2 four channel amplifier to power the full-range speakers and a JL Audio XD600/1v2 mono amplifier for bass. Both of these JL Audio amps employ high-speed NexD switching design to achieve unprecedented efficiency and amazing power output in a very compact chassis. For front and back speakers, the choice was JL Audio C2 component and coaxial speakers. A customer brought in a 2007 BMW Z4 looking to upgrade his factory car stereo with something fully equipped with all the basic features. After talking with the gentleman about the different features he was interested in, the crew recommended and installed a Pioneer AVH3500NEX DVD receiver. This 7-inch touch screen radio features Apple CarPlay, AM/FM, USB, and Bluetooth for hands free calling and music streaming. Not only did it have all the features he was looking for but with the right kit, harness, and antenna adaptor, the Pioneer car stereo fit perfectly in his vehicle. We had a gentleman with a 2016 Freightliner Semi truck stop by our Lee Trevino location. Customers that drive this type of truck often live in them and spend a good portion of their day on the road. With that said, this gentleman was looking to upgrade his car audio system with a new car stereo, speakers, and add some bass. After reviewing his options, the crew started by replacing the head unit with a JVC KWM750BT digital receiver. This JVC car stereo includes Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth for hands free calling and music streaming and navigation. This car audio lover brought in a 2006 Chevy Colorado to our East El Paso location. This customer loves his truck but he hated his factory sound system. We installed a JVC car stereo model KWV850BT fully loaded with features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, CD, and DVD Player. We replaced the front and rear doors with 2 pair of Kenwood Speakers. We added an Audio control Epicenter to make the bass sound better and built a custom box with 4 JL Audio 8W3V34 8 inch subwoofers. The entire system was powered with a JL Audio RD900/5 5 channel amplifier. To protect this gentleman’s investment, we installed a Viper Alarm 5105V remote start system.
