Local girl, new discoveries—right here in downtown Elgin!

For a few weeks every Fall, these streets just fill up with music, barbeque, old friends, and folks who become new friends before the weekend is over. It’s a little loud, a little dusty and exactly the way we like it. Hogeye isn’t just something we celebrate, it’s who we are.
Hogeye Festival is every 4th weekend in October.

A Little Meyer’s History

Meyer’s Elgin Smokehouse opened its doors in 1998, when Gregg, Denise, Gary, and Becky Meyer purchased Bigger’s BBQ and brought the Meyer family’s generations-old sausage tradition to life in a full-service barbecue restaurant.

Today, Meyer’s Elgin Smokehouse is proud to carry on a four-generation legacy of Meyer family sausage makers, with Gregg and Gary representing the fourth generation.

And we’ve grown quite a bit along the way! Since opening in 1998, the Smokehouse has been expanded NINE different times! 🤯

From a second kitchen dedicated to making our yummy homemade desserts to our party room where families and friends can gather and celebrate, every expansion has helped us grow while staying true to what started it all—family, tradition, and great Texas barbecue.
