To our wonderful donors, we have a humble request. We’d like to ask that, when donating clothing, you try to find trash bags or other containers that are reasonably sized and not overly heavy. It is VERY hard for our staff to handle contractor-sized trash bags which can weigh in excess of 50 lbs when full. We appreciate every donation, but please know that our staff, while they’re all superstars, are not bodybuilders! 😁 Thank you so much for your assistance and your support!!

On National Nonprofit Day, we want to say thank you to all of our donors, shoppers, and volunteers who help support our mission. Hopeline's Clothesline is part of Albemarle Hopeline, a nonprofit organization that assists victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence in our community. ALL proceeds from our store support services such as emergency shelter, court advocacy, therapy, and housing programs for our neighbors who have experienced violence and abuse.

Did you know… that not all of the “donation” bins that you see around town support charitable causes? Some are actually FOR-profit businesses that aren’t local, and some sell the clothing to textile recyclers for profit.
When you donate at Hopeline’s Clothesline, which is part of Albemarle Hopeline, a 501c3 nonprofit, ALL of the proceeds go to help people right here in your community! Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we can create a safer community for everyone!

Victims of domestic and sexual violence who are being assisted by our parent organization, Albemarle Hopeline, can “shop” at our store free of charge.
