We are now closed for 2025! Thank you for a wonderful season!

Now we turn our attention to focus on the reason for the Christmas season - the gift of the birth of Jesus!
If you do not have a church home, we would love to invite you to join our family at the Heaton Christian Church Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, which will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24. The church is located at 221 Curtis Creek Rd, Elk Park, NC.

One of our trees was on display last night for the Town of Elk Park Christmas Celebration! We love our little town!

Today, Sunday, Dec 14, is our last day for 2025! The Ellis Family Farm (121 Brooks Shell Rd) is open today from 12-5! The Orchard Farm has closed for the season.

This is our last weekend for 2025!! Our Ellis Family Farm (121 Brooks Shell Rd) is OPEN today and tomorrow, Dec 13-14!

Saturday, Dec 13: 9-5
Sunday, Dec 14: 12-5

Our Orchard Farm has closed for the season.

There is still snow on the ground so we recommend wearing boots if possible!

Great info!

Do allergies prevent your home from having a real Christmas tree during the holiday season? According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, evergreen pollens, with their thick, waxy outer coating, have never been considered a significant allergen, and are unlikely to cause a reaction.
A 6-7’ Fraser fir grows in the field for approx. 8 years before it is harvested. In many cases allergic reactions are not caused by the tree itself, but things on the tree, like dust and other pollens that have settled on the tree over all those years while in the field. Hosing the tree down with water before taking it into the house will help reduce or eliminate the allergens on the tree. You can also use a spray bottle with a mild detergent like Dawn (1/4 tsp is plenty) to break down any settlements on the tree. Just mix the Dawn in a spray bottle, mist down the tree, and then hose it off. And if you're worried this might harm the tree or dry it out, no worries - this will not harm the tree at all.

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! Since this photo on the Ellis Family Farm in 1994, we’ve added 10 spouses and 26 great grandchildren (with one on the way)! We praise the Lord for his many blessings and the gift of being together.

Both farms are open today (Nov 27) from 9-4. Looking ahead, we are open tomorrow (Black Friday, Nov 28) from 9-5, Saturday (Nov 29) from 9-5, and Sunday (Nov 30) from 12-5.

- Thursday (Thanksgiving), Nov 27: 9-4

- Saturday, Nov 29: 9-5
- Sunday, Nov 30: 12-5

Some tips for visiting Elk River Evergreens

🌲Upon arrival, see one of our attendants for a name tag before heading to the field. We can point you in the direction of where to look based on your desired size.

🌲Once you find the perfect tree, securely tie the name tag to the tree.

🌲Flag down one of our attendants to let them know you are ready for your tree to be harvested. They are constantly circling the fields. Walking out to one of the paths will make it easier for them to see you! (During peak times- please be patient - they work so hard to get to everyone as quickly as they can.)

🌲At least one person in your party should stay with your tree until it’s cut. In a field of thousands, it’s very hard to find if you leave it!

🌲Once cut and loaded, head back to the main building for complimentary popcorn and hot chocolate or cider.

🌲Make sure you remember the color of the ribbon on your tree (to know how tall it is).

🌲Browse our shop for wreaths, stands, bows, and gifts.

🌲When you are ready, you will pay our attendants by letting them know the color tag on your tree.

🌲Once paid, let the guys out front know which one is your vehicle so they can tie it on for you!
