For those of you who have followed my career, you know that I have played Otto Link tenor mouthpieces for all but 10 years of my nearly 50 years as a professional musician. Those 10 years I didn't play Links, I played vintage Berg Larson's. Well, I'm back playing vintage metal Link's almost full-time again and I am honored to be chosen as a spokesperson and Official Artist for JJ Babbitt, makers of Otto Link and Meyer saxophone mouthpieces. I am looking forward to visiting the factory in Elkhart, IN and helping Otto Link in anyway I can. The new tenor HR "EB" Links are a step in the right direction and I'm hoping I can help get the metal Links headed in the same positive direction. Let's face it, there is nothing quiet like a great playing Link for us tenor saxophonists. Every tenor player knows that! Oh, and yes, my very first tenor mouthpiece was a HR Link that Stan Getz had given my father back in the 1960's, and that is my daughter Lyla with me in this photo.. Thank you so much to Steve Rorie, the owner and CEO of JJ Babbitt, and saxophonist and advisor Mike Smith, for believing in me and including me in this iconic company. I couldn't be prouder. - Peace, DL
