Starting to see this Mishawaka waterfall come together!

The rockwork is taking shape, and we're getting a better look at how the two separate waterfalls will flow through the finished feature. Still plenty of work ahead, but it's always fun when the design starts looking like what we had planned.

More progress coming soon!

We're working on a new pondless waterfall installation in Mishawaka, Indiana, with a design we've been calling the double-single waterfall. The water takes two separate paths before coming together, creating some interesting opportunities for stone placement and water flow.

We've got a lot more to share from this build, so follow along as the project takes shape!

There's a difference between building a pond and specializing in building ponds.

The details matter. How the stone is placed, how the waterfalls flow, how the pond fits into the landscape, and especially what's happening underneath the water.

A dedicated pond builder brings experience with filtration, circulation, liner installation, fish habitat, and long-term maintenance. All the things that make a pond work just as well as it looks.

There are plenty of talented landscapers out there, but when it comes to something as specialized as a koi pond, experience makes a difference.

If you're planning a koi pond or waterfall in Northern Indiana, take a close look at who's building it and the work they've done before.

Before, during, and after.

A quick look at how much changes during a water feature build. From an open space and a whole lot of stone to moving water that looks like it belongs there.

The view from down here is pretty good too. ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ’ง

One of the coolest parts of a pond is everything happening below the surface. Clear water gives you a front row seat.

The best part of a special project like this is hearing how much the client loves the finished result. ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ’ง

This red-bellied cooter pond was definitely a little different from our everyday builds, and that's exactly what made it so much fun. We got to design around the turtles, their needs, and the way our client wanted to enjoy and care for them.

We're pretty happy with how it turned out, but hearing it from the client is even better.

We love getting the opportunity to work on special projects for special clients. ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ’ง

This pond was designed specifically for red-bellied cooters, which meant thinking beyond what we would normally consider for a backyard pond. Their habitat, access to the water, basking areas, and how they would actually use the space all played a part in the design.

Projects like this are a fun reminder that water features can be built for a whole lot more than koi.

The stone, moving water, plants, and changing landscape all come together a little differently this time of year.

Your pond notices the change in seasons too. ๐Ÿ‚

As temperatures start dropping in Northern Indiana, your fish, aquatic plants, water temperature, and overall pond ecosystem begin transitioning toward winter. At the same time, falling leaves and organic debris can create a little more work for pond owners.

Swipe through for 5 things happening in your pond this fall and what you should be paying attention to as we head toward colder weather.
