Well… this is how we spent a few hours today. 👀

A little patching.
A little prepping.
A whole lot of planning.

And before anybody asks… NO, the wall is not going pink. 😂

We’ve got some pretty exciting things happening behind the scenes at Yadkin Valley Wood Co, and today was the first step toward making one of those plans a reality.

We’re not quite ready to show you everything yet… 😉

We are tired, but so incredibly thankful! 🎃❤️

What a day at the Elkin Pumpkin Festival!

Thank you to every single person who stopped by our booth today. Whether you came to smell the candles, check out the 3D-printed creations, look through our woodworking, have a conversation, or simply stop and say hi, we truly appreciate you!

Days like today remind us how much we enjoy doing this. We love making things, but getting to meet the people who take them home makes it even better.

Thank you, Elkin, for another great Pumpkin Festival and for supporting our little family business. ❤️

Now we’re going to put our feet up for a minute… because we’ve got some pretty exciting things ahead. 👀

There is A LOT happening throughout Downtown Elkin, so take a few minutes to look over the map before festival day. You’ll find:

🎃 Great Pumpkin Commonwealth Weigh-Off — Come see the GIANT pumpkins, watermelons, squash and gourds up close! Awards will begin around 1:00 PM.

🛍️ 100+ Vendor Spaces along Main Street — Shop handmade goods, crafts, gifts, fall favorites and so much more. This is a great chance to support small businesses and get an early start on Christmas shopping!

🍔 Food Trucks & Food Vendors — Come hungry! Food options are located throughout the festival and downtown.

🎈 Kids Zone — Located near the Large Stage and Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Wristbands are $10 each and include play all day!

🤹 Gravity Check Jugglers — Their show begins at 3:00 PM at the Large Stage!

🥕 Farmers Market — Be sure to visit our local farmers and producers while you're exploring the festival.

🧵 Quilt Show — Located at Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church.

🛍️ Downtown Businesses — Don't forget about our amazing brick-and-mortar businesses! Many will be open and ready to welcome festival visitors.

🚜 Shuttle Stops — Parking is available at Elkin Elementary & Middle School, with a shuttle running from both parking lots. Shuttle drivers will take a lunch break from 12:00–1:00 PM.

♿ Mobility Rentals — Available in front of Elkin Antiques & Collectibles Mall.

🚻 Restrooms, parking areas, road closures and shuttle pickup/drop-off locations are all marked on the map to make navigating the festival easier!

We will have 500+ printed copies available at the Yadkin Valley Chamber tent, located in front of Three Trails Hotel at the intersection on Main Street. Stop by, grab a map, ask us a question, or just say hello! 👋

👋 We thought it was time to introduce ourselves!

We’re Micheal & Holly, the couple behind Yadkin Valley Designs and Yadkin Valley Wood Co.

What started with woodworking has grown into a whole lot more. These days you’ll find us making everything from handcrafted wood pieces and laser-engraved gifts to candles, 3D-printed creations, custom shirts, personalized items, and whatever new idea Micheal decides we absolutely have to try next. 😂

Most of what we do starts with a simple thought:

“I wonder if we could make that?”

And usually… we figure out a way.

We’re a small, local business built around creating things people actually want to give, use, display, or just have because they make them smile.

You’ll find us at local markets and festivals, and we’re incredibly excited about what’s coming next as we continue growing the business.

But this page isn’t going to be just a catalog of things for sale. We want you to see the people behind it too: the successes, the experiments, the occasional failures, the new machines, the late nights, and the crazy ideas that somehow turn into products.
