Circus of Power – A Blues Rock/Heavy Metal/Hard Rock/”Sleaze Rock” band from NY City formed in 1986. (Sleaze Rock is a sub-genre of Glam Metal formed in the mid 80’s – early 90’s in the NY City Club Scene, it is characterized by a dirtier, more aggressive and more irreverent image with-out make-up of Glam style bands. Recorded on Metal Blade Records – Known for launching careers for bands like: Metallica, Slayer, Cannibal Co**se to name but a few… Extremely Rare and Collectible!!! “Still Alive” Stop in Today Wednesday from 2:00 - 6:00 to check out All of our really Cool recordings

Another "Gem" from our warehouse that we're finding : Between Meals - A Post Punk/ Art Punk/Lo-Fi Experimental/Avante Garde Project which is a Rare One-off Side Project of Jad Fair of the Art Punk band “Half Japanese”. Between Meals is known for their unique sound, blending various musical and conceptual influences along with a Mix of Energetic Punk elements and Experimental sounds which contribute to their distinctive style emphasizing artistic expression and innovation…. Included on the album are covers of the Classic Rhythm & Blues piece, “Route 66” and Ray Charles’ – “What’d I say”…. A cross between Hardcore Thrash and Early Captain Beefheart. A highly talented Power Trio, which was a force in Tallahassee’s early Punk and Underground Music Scene from 1987-1990. “They were weird, young and fairly good instrumentalists” who according to them “Made a lot of Noisy Music… “Insect Fear Must be Destroyed” - 12” 45 rpm full album

Modern Industry – An Amer. Punk/Death Rock/Hardcore Punk band that emerged from Southern California through the Pomona based Toxic Shock record store and label. Out of high school they wanted to be a “Real Dirty” All Amer. Punk band. “Man in Black is pure DeathRock, Their songs are Powerful Thrashy Hardcore, Raw and Scratchy, perfect midnight cemetery Rendezvous stuff”. After 40+ years, due to their huge Cult following, their discography has been re-issued on Band Camp w/ never before published material. Drummer Mark Duda would go on to become part of the “Flower Leperds” who along w/ other Mystic Records artists that share in common w/ Modern Industry’s Hardcore/Death Rock sound. ( “Man in Black” 7” 33 1/3 rpm 4 song EP Extremely Rare and Collectible!!!

Lots of Great bands on Vinyl that somehow got overlooked from the early 80’s and 90’s when the CD began to overtake the LP in sales and Radio stations were asking only for CD’s for on-air play… Take this recording : Polyrock – An Amer. Post-Punk/New Wave/ Minimalist group formed in NYC in 1978. Strongly influenced by Minimalism w/ its repetitive patterns or pulses, steady drones, phase shifting, often described as Process music…Their 1st 2 albums were produced by Minimalist composer Philip Glass. The band led by singer/guitarist Billy Robertson (formerly of the group “Model Citizens”) had a keyboard heavy patterned based sound reminiscent of Philip Glass’s work. They have been compared by critics to Talking Heads, Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. Their albums have been ranked in the “100 Best Albums of the 80’s”… ( “Above the Fruited Plain” 12” 33 1/3 rpm 5 song EP

Here's an Interesting recording : Girlschool – A British all girl band formed in the New Wave of the British Heavy Metal Scene (NWOBHM) in 1978 ( Punk Tinge Metal ) Frequently associated with Contemporaries – Motorhead. They are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active after more than 40 years. Formed from a school band called Painted Lady. Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the UK in the early 1980s with three albums of "punk-tinged metal” and a few singles. Their 1st single in 1978 had some radio airplay and circulated in the underground scene; it came to the hearing of Ian Kilmister, commonly known as Lemmy, leader of the British rock band Motörhead, who went to see the band performing live and offered them a support slot on Motörhead's Overkill tour in the spring of 1979. Using the same Producer, Vic Maile, for their 2nd album as Motorhead’s classic “Ace of Spades” it was suggested that the two groups team-up, resulting in the release of the EP St. Valentine's Day Massacre which contained two self-covers, with Motörhead performing Girlschool's "Emergency", and Girlschool playing Motörhead's "Bomber". This was the start of an enduring relationship between the two bands.

Dead Moon – An Amer. Punk/Garage-Punk/Garage Rock band formed in 1987 in Portland OR. They combined Dark and Lovelorn themes w/ Punk and Other Outside influences into a stripped-down sound. Frontman, Fred Cole, engineered " most of the bands recordings and mastered them on a Mono recording lathe ( that was used for the 1963 Kingsmen’s version of “Louie, Louie”) Their early recordings were released on the Independent, “Tombstone Records” label but soon caught the attention of the German label, “Music Maniac Records” and the band began touring Europe, successfully creating much of their Cult following in Europe. It wasn’t until the mid 90’s that they toured the US and continued to tour until 2006 when they announced their break-up. But, in 2004 a US film making team produced a Documentary “Unknown Passage: The Dead Moon Story” which played in Independent theaters in the US, Australia and New Zealand and later released on DVD. Due to a huge Cult following from the documentary, their early recordings on Tombstone Records were all re-issued on the US “Mississippi Record Label” started as early as 2011. This prompted the band to reform in 2014 and they continued until 2017 when frontman Fred Cole passed away…..”Stranded in the Mystery Zone” - Original Tombstone recording Extremely Rare and Collectible
