Did my first demo at the library yesterday. Ladies said they felt like they were watching QVC. And the president of the quilt guild asked if I'd do the presentation in 2022 for the whole quilt. Maybe more demos in my future.

How do you cut your borders? I recently did an experiment making my borders the way people sometimes suggest (even though this went against every fiber of my being). I usually measure once across the center (from top to bottom) and do my side borders and then measure across the center (left to right side) and apply the top/bottom border. This time I measured 3 times, took the average, and applied borders. Once I did the quilt borders that way and snapped a photo, I ripped out the borders, cut them using the measure once across the center method and applied them again. Look how much nicer they lay when you do it "correctly". This was laid out on a white design wall so you might have to enlarge the pictures to see what I mean but the white borders are much more perfect and less wavy using the measure once across the center method. Not that I'm trying to change anyone's mind...

This design for the quilt top was based on a free motion quilt challenge that Angela Walters did.
While she sold pre-printed panels I decided to do my top in my own colorway. I did the borders based on a Migrating Geese class taught by Phyllis Reeves.
Help! How Do I Quilt It?
