Student spotlight: Rising CCST Landscape and Horticulture Senior, Cassidy Pulliam working in the Water Lily Gardens during her first day in the Longwood Gardens Teen Volunteer Summer program. Cassy spent the day cutting back dead leaves and spent flowers. If you have ever wondered why gardens like Longwood are so spectacular it’s because of the professionals and volunteers that create and maintain that beauty! It doesn’t just happen. We can’t wait to see what else Longwood lets you experience Cassy! Enjoy the gardens.

This is a wonderful example of a Non-Paid Placement SAE (Supervised Agriculture Experience) for the summer 🙂

Thank you, rising senior McKenna Crook, Mrs. Reisler + Reisler kiddos, Rigdon kiddos and CCST groundskeeper and LHP Alumni Andrew Sadler for helping unpack and start the set up for the new aquaponics tank! Funny thing is that the worst thing to build today was the dang support table for the grow table. 🤷‍♀️

LHP students, we will continue setting this up on July 20th! We also have a lot of garden needs that can’t be let go all summer. Please join us on the next work day 9am-noon to w**deat, move mulch, and w**d our new raised beds. Rising juniors are welcome to join us! I will send an email :)
