There has never been a time in my life where I didn’t want to paint a room, decorate it, re-arrange it, and then do it all over again. That translated into a love for graphic design because who doesn’t love to do all of that in a lower risk “redo,” and “delete,” environment? I really enjoy making things look beautiful and welcoming for the people who I know and love. I really love creating branding that feels true to the person or business or mission behind it all. I also love when whatever I put my mind to turns out perfectly! Who doesn’t??
It’s easy to let the desire to be perfect outweigh the desire to use up every bit of talent you’ve been given. It’s a daily choice I make to keep taking steps in spite of that feeling. The desire to perfect everything makes any goal you might have seem so unattainable you struggle to try! My house is too small for ___, my town isn’t right for ____, my skill set doesn’t match ____, I need to be more prepared to start _____. The excuses pile up and block any path forward.
I’m sharing this because I really believe that when we push past perfection there is a lot of joy on the other side. It’s why we have workshops so you can be a beginner at something again! From my home to yours, there will always be a million reasons not to try- and there will always be a million good things on the other side of a brave “yes!”
