Dear Valued Customers,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of The Lazy Daisy Boutique.
Fashion has always held a special place in my heart since childhood. While my style of sundresses paired with combat boots may not have been the most sophisticated, I cherished the feeling of stepping out into the world with confidence. When I launched this boutique from my basement at the age of 22, I was filled with the same thrill and passion I had as a little girl.
A year later, standing proudly in my own store, I felt I had realized the dream of that young girl. I dedicated countless hours, days, nights, and years to building, designing, and managing this shop. Along the way, I experienced moments of joy and some that were less fulfilling.
However, a recent moment of clarity led me to confront my happiness. I realized that I was not content. I have grown and changed since I first embarked on this journey. A quote I encountered recently resonated deeply with me: “Choosing not to prioritize your health is disrespectful to those who depend on you.”. This wisdom helped me recognize that closing the boutique is a necessary step for my well being and that of my family.
I understand that some may view my decision as trivial or self-centered, and that others may perceive my role as “easier” than theirs. Every job presents its own challenges. While running a business offers flexibility and independence, it also comes with responsibilities that often go unnoticed.
This decision was far from simple. I spent many sleepless nights grappling with my thoughts, shedding tears, weighing pros and cons, and seeking guidance from my family to find clarity.
Will I miss the boutique? Without a doubt. My passion for clothing runs deep. Its ability to evoke feelings, enable self expression, and trigger cherished memories is profound. Each conversation I’ve shared with customers will remain close to my heart, as clothing will always carry significance for me.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shopped with us, visited our pop-up events, engaged with us on social media, or supported our journey in any capacity. Your kindness has meant the world to me. I sincerely hope that someone will revive this boutique for the community. A special thank you goes out to the incredible women who helped me open the store each day and welcomed every customer with a smile, your efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Our final day of operation will be December 1st (or sooner). If you hold a gift card, please be sure to use it before we close, as they are nonrefundable. At this time, we are not accepting returns, and all sales will be final. We will no longer take checks. Clothing will begin markdown this Saturday during Ellendale days. Additionally, the building is not for sale at the moment.
With all my love,
Kaitlyn Kinzler
