If you know me, you know that I like to keep anything pertaining to business positive and I don’t like to complain but I cannot keep this in any longer. 🥹
Since the beginning of the bridge construction, parking has become difficult and quite frustrating at times. We want your shopping experience to be painless and enjoyable and we understand how the bridge construction traffic and parking has affected that.
We have tried to get the workers to stop double parking, taking up half the lot by parking at Thurmans(he has agreed to it) or by parking at the public lot on the other side of the bridge. Despite our efforts, they are not receptive to our kind requests.
The simple truth is, it’s hurting our business and we are not sure what else we can do. It’s a public lot so legally we have no leverage to get them to move. Explaining to them that our business relies on this particular lot means nothing to them. It’s infuriating to say the least. It seems like they double park on purpose now to be defiant which is even more frustrating. We recognize that they have a job to do and we don’t take their hard work for granted. All we re asking is for them to parking 10-15 ft further outside of the main customer parking area to make the lot more accessible and less dangerous to all.
I have filed a complain with INDOT so let’s hope that gets us somewhere but in the meantime:
Please do not forget about the extra parking lots pictured below! It’s a short walk to get to the Sale St. Shops! Also, there is an alternative route that avoids the bridge traffic completely in the photos below.
