Workshops. Open craft time. Meetups. New things to make. New things to buy. And, for the first time, an actual full-month RBP calendar so you can see what the hell is happening before it happens.
There’s a lot going on over here, so consider this your September “put something fun on the calendar” reminder.
SEPTEMBER AT THE RBP
The full September calendar is officially up.
This is the first time I’ve put the whole month out at once, which means you can actually plan ahead for Craft & Yap open studio time instead of waiting for me to announce hours week by week.
Bring your own project and use the space, raid the RBP craft stash, come with a friend, come by yourself, finish the thing that has been sitting half-done in your house for six months — whatever.
And, of course, the calendar is also packed with workshops, meetups and other reasons to leave your house and make something.
Check the calendar, claim your workshop spots, and plan your Craft & Yap time now.
AND: YOU CAN SHOP THE RBP ONLINE NOW
You asked. I finally did it.
The RBP online shop is live.
For now, you’ll find RBP merch and some of the retail goodies you can normally grab in the shop.
The handmade one-off pieces aren’t online yet because, frankly, I am not currently interested in creating a second full-time job for myself updating inventory every time one weird little handmade thing finds its person.
Maybe eventually.
For now: RBP stuff + retail stuff = online.
Choose free pickup at The RBP or $5 flat-rate shipping.
ALSO, THIS HAPPENED
VoyageBaltimore recently asked me to talk about The RBP — how it started, what I’m trying to build here, the uncertainty that pushed me into doing it in the first place, and the somewhat chaotic process of figuring it all out as I go.
It still feels a little surreal that people want to talk to me about my “vision” when so much of that vision has been “well, let’s try this and see what happens.”
But people keep showing up.
And that part is pretty cool.
COME MAKE SOMETHING
There are a whole bunch of reasons to get yourself to The RBP this month, whether you want someone to teach you something new or you just need a couple hours to sit at a table, work with your hands and talk to other humans.
Grab a workshop. Come Craft & Yap. Bring somebody who keeps saying they want to come. Or come alone — you absolutely do not need to bring a built-in buddy to belong here.
The RBP has only been open a few months, and I am very much learning as I go — figuring out what works, trying new things, changing things when they don’t, and occasionally building the plane while flying it.
So, genuinely: thank you for your patience while I figure this thing out, and thank you for being here while I do. Every class you sign up for, friend you bring, post you share, afternoon you spend crafting here, and weird idea you enthusiastically say yes to is helping turn The RBP into the place I hoped it could be.
Still figuring it out. Still making things. Still building community.
Make things. Build community. Give a damn.
Amanda
