Fat Bikes in Allegany- Maybe you have seen them or heard them rolling along the trails. Fat bikes are off road bikes with big tires typically 3.8 in (97 mm) or wider. They are designed for low pressure to allow riding on soft, unstable terrain, such as snow, sand, bogs and mud. Thanks to a grant from New York State, the Environmental Educational and Recreation Department will have a few available to demo during Fat Bike rides on select Mondays and Fridays throughout the winter. For more information call the Environmental Education Dept at 716- 354-9101 ext 232
