There are people behind those beautiful booths y’all enjoy shopping in, and I wish you could know them the way we do.
Vendors with aging parents who may not remember them from one day to the next.
Empty nesters trying to figure out what purpose looks like again.
Vendors who have stood in front of something they made and wondered, “Is this good enough to sell, or have I just wasted my time?”
Vendors who are fighting cancer.
People carrying grief.
People rebuilding.
People looking for something that feels like theirs again.
And somehow, all of them ended up under this one glorious old roof.
In this old building that has held generations of stories, we’ve built another one.
A little corner of Mississippi where people can make something with their hands, put it on a shelf, and say, “I made this.”
Where someone can walk through the doors having a terrible day and leave with a treasure, a smile, a conversation, or maybe just a little peace.
Our vendors work hard to make their spaces beautiful.
They hunt for the oddities, rescue the forgotten, create the handmade, restore the worn, and carefully choose the things they believe are worth bringing home.
They pick with intention, so you can gift with intention.
And that matters.
Because some days, the joy of coming in here and working on a booth, rearranging a shelf, finding the perfect piece, talking to another vendor or watching someone fall in love with something you chose…
that little bit of joy may be the best part of someone’s day.
That’s the Emporium.
It’s not really about the money.
It’s about the heart.
It always has been.
So to our faithful shoppers, our familiar faces, and the folks who just found us…
Thank you.
Thank you for walking through our doors.
Thank you for supporting small businesses, Mississippi artists, collectors, makers, pickers, dreamers and people who are simply trying to make something beautiful out of whatever life handed them.
Because you give all of us a reason to keep doing this.
You give us a place for the joy, the sadness, the fear, the insecurity, the pain and the hope.
You give us community.
You give us found family.
And in this crazy old building, beneath these beautiful old ceilings, surrounded by things with stories…
we’ve found a little bit of home.
Thank you for being part of it.
