Refresh at The Silver Schwan inside The Emporium On Ivy!
I’m so excited about the artwork this week! Where are my Ellisville United Methodist Church people?!! Look at these beautiful pencil sketches of the historic church and current building by Mrs. Barbara Long Knotts (my 5th grade teacher ♥️)
These are a treasure!!!
That needlework rooster is adorable and it comes with the easel!!! Would look so cute on a kitchen counter!
And last but not least, that signed and numbered “Blooming Apples” by Sue Williams is beautiful!

There have also been a few books added as well…1984 Mississippi Taste of the South, “The Last of the Southern Girls” by Mississippi author, Willie Morris,
My Southern Journey” by Alabama author, Rick Bragg and “How to Test Negative for Stupid” by United States Senator from Louisiana!

A small refresh for The Silver Schwan with some beautiful artwork!!!
The large magnolia is an oil painting from 1990 by Dewitt Pickering (I feel like he was local, but I’m not for certain
about that). It does have some distressed spots on the painting, but I did not attempt to remove.
You really can’t see the spots from far away and I think he gives it a little character anyway!!!
 The smaller Magnolia print is from Mississippi artist Bonnie Butler, and it is custom matted and framed with a unique wood carved frame. It’s those little details that makes it even more special!
A few vintage books made their way to The Emporium On Ivy, along with a milk, glass vase and a clear glass syrup picture from the 1950s!!!

Autumn colors

Bring on the fall season with its beautiful colors of amber, rust brown, avocado green, chocolate brown, red orange, and gold!!! Bring on the cool crisp air!!! Bring on the pumpkins, apples, acorns, and fall leaves. Visit The Silver Schwan to get in an autumn frame of mind!
