Est. 1984 - Maine Island Soap is made the old fashioned way on the coast on Maine with minimal all natural ingredients. We make our soaps entirely by hand in our little garage that we’ve converted into our soap making room. Several of our fundamental values include being good stewards of the land and living a natural lifestyle with as little impact to the environment as possible. Each bar is hand cut and carefully packaged in our recyclable boxes. If you love the natural purity of the coast of Maine, you'll also love the purity of Maine Island Soap!

We've been busy making soap, pouring candles, packing orders, and keeping the shelves stocked here at Maine Island Soap.

Our curing racks have been staying pretty full lately as we keep making fresh batches for the weeks ahead.

It's been a busy summer, and we're incredibly grateful for every order that keeps this little Maine business moving.

One of our favorite seasonal soaps is back on the making table! 🍊🌼

Sweet Orange, Bergamot & Calendula is one of those soaps we just love making this time of year. It’s filled with beautiful calendula flower petals and scented with sweet orange and bergamot, creating such a lovely bright, fresh, citrusy scent that feels like a little bit of sunshine in a bar.

I always love watching a batch come together, from the oils and botanicals to that beautiful moment when everything starts to transform into soap. And now this batch gets to do its quiet little thing while it cures for the next couple of weeks before it’s ready to be wrapped and placed on the shelves.

There’s just something extra special about making seasonal soap in small batches and knowing that soon these little bars will be heading home with our customers. 🧡

Fall has arrived at Maine Island Soap, and we’re excited to introduce two new limited-edition seasonal candles.

🍎 Apple + Fig

Inspired by the changing beauty of autumn in Maine, Apple + Fig captures the feeling of crisp fall days, colorful landscapes, and the warmth of the season. Sweet apple blends with the rich character of ripe fig, along with notes of ginger, caramel, cinnamon, coffee, and forest.

🍂 Cinnamon + Cardamom

Inspired by the warmth and comfort of autumn in Maine, Cinnamon + Cardamom brings together warm cinnamon with the aromatic character of cardamom and nutmeg. It’s rich, inviting, and beautifully spiced, making it a perfect fragrance for the season.

Both candles are hand-poured in small batches using a natural coconut soy wax blend and premium fragrance oils.

These two seasonal fragrances are available for a limited time.

Behind every Maine Island Soap order is a lot of hands-on work that happens right here in our shop.

Today we’re getting another shipment of our hospitality bars ready to go, featuring two customer favorites:

🌿Cadillac Mountain Morning Mint
🌊Frenchman Bay Clam Flat Clay

Each bar is individually packaged in a waterproof pouch, carefully sealed, and prepared for delivery. Seeing a large batch of finished bars all lined up and ready to leave the shop never gets old!

There’s a lot that happens before a bar reaches its final destination. From making and curing the soap to packaging each individual bar, we take pride in giving every order the care and attention it deserves.

That’s what inspired us to create our new seasonal candles.

🍎 Apple + Fig and 🍂 Cinnamon + Cardamom were created to capture two different sides of fall. One is warm, fruity, and inviting. The other is rich, aromatic, and filled with the comforting character of autumn spices.

Like our Signature Candle Collection, each candle is hand-poured in small batches in Maine using a natural coconut soy wax blend and premium fragrance oils.

These two seasonal fragrances will only be available for a limited time.

We can’t wait for you to experience them.
