A couple of our more religious items. The first is an etching from the 1833 book History of Portland by William Willis. Attached to the back of that etching is the original chapter “Ecclesiastical Affairs” as the book could not be saved. The second item is an original leaf from the 1611 King James “She”bible.

This is a map that I’m currently working on. It’s been folded into a book and then some time ago it was rolled up. It was made in 1833 so it’s in excellent condition for 193 years old. Right now I’m working on getting the map to lie flat and work on some of the fold lines before I mat and frame it, it’s extremely fragile as the paper is very similar to tissue paper. FYI Portland, Maine was known as Falmouth Neck from 1658 until it was renamed and incorporated as Portland in 1786.
