✨ I always reflect on how I started before I started, meaning I didn’t have the website, business cards, space yet. I didn’t even know WHO were going to be my targeted audience .

✏️Note to any business minded people:
It’s okay to jump without having everything figured out, but from experience I wish I had thought a little harder on this area of business a bit.

I had no clue, I would build a build this business that would attract more women than men. I would be supported by people who are 50+ than my those around my age. I would have a diverse customer base. And lastly, I would get more support from those who weren’t family or friends.

As surprisingly all this info is looking back from 6 years ago, but let’s just say understanding this helped me understand where I was needed to be a vendor. Understanding everyone won’t be your customer or maybe not a continuous one.

Learning what you offer and who to direct your business to is very important and essential for the growth of your business! But also never limit yourself because you might surprise yourself who else might be attract to what you can bring to the table.

✨ On this Labor Day we are working extremely hard to raise funds for numerous projects concerning the growth of our business .

Over the course of our journey we have had our ups and downs, as the owner I try not to make my business a charity case, but if I’m being honest it’s hard and ALOT to carry so many hats personally and professionally. More to come from this !

✨ In the summer of 2019 I was invited to co-chair MC along with Frank Whitfield (who months later will become the Mayor) the “ How I Cope Health Fair sponsored by the Lorain County Mental Health board .

Just weeks before this invite happened, I had a conversation with my good sis Lydia Lee about mental health. And from this conversation became the words “ It takes Two to make a person get right “
Prayer and Therapy. Yes, we took a quick line from Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock.

During this time the thought 💭 of building an apparel line was brewing. And at this time, my friend Kory Robinson was helping me put my ideas and bad drawings to reality onto tees.

Fast forward ⏩ to August 2020 I filed for my LLC.
In November with the help of my bestfriend Jasmine helped me get my first Cricut Explore. And then February 2021, EVERYTHING changed.

I was working at Horizon Education Center during the COVID era. And one of the supervisors happened to be visiting the center. She complimented me on my crewneck and I told her I made it . She immediately asked if I was selling this crewneck . And that’s when I officially started and made my first TRANSACTION!!!

✨ When we say we LOOOVE supporting our community, we mean that. We put actions behind our words.

Here recently we had the wonderful opportunity to make the shirts for the 1st Girl Basketball Clinic🏀 sponsored by the Rose Standard in collaboration with the Elevation Training Center.

We have worked alongside the ETC on several different projects for his youth and male league teams, but this was special to be apart of.

✨ Have you ever built something in the most unpredictable timing ?

In the midst of the Covid era in 2020, Bold Living by Design Apparel was created .

Creating this business initially was :
-for freedom, to move away from check to check living
-to be more flexible and being able to make time for my family and other interests
- Lastly, it was because I feel there was a void missing in the world that spoke to the awareness of mental health, the boldness of being a Christ and the pride of being Black.

I created this brand to speak to the heart of people to let them know we all were born and created for a purpose. We are born to be fearless and intentional living .

I created this brand for YOU, for me and for future customers to come . Our brand represents living out the words that make up our name BOLD LIVING BY DESIGN!!!!
