I love this roof design. It centralizes water catchment, articulates the entry, projects the views in the living room toward the Pacific and parallels the topography to the east. One thing it does not do well is harvest electricity. Keep an eye out for some significant roof changes.

This project has been redesigned from the ground up due to the City of Encinitas interpretation of SB9 and the necessity for Right of Way adjustments. Live and learn. The clients stuck with me but the redesign was on my dime. I’ll be learning in my grave. The new concept is fabulous. A family compound with primary unit, duplex and two detached ADU bungalows. Stay tuned to see if this iteration is approved by the clients!
