Dear fans,
Today, I am responding to concerns that have recently been brought to my attention. Now that I have made the decision to relaunch Farmacology—exercising my legal right to do so- I feel compelled to clear the air and prevent any misunderstandings. In addition, I will not permit individuals—who have yet to fulfill their financial obligations for the company I built from the ground up—to damage my reputation with false allegations.
Reducing a complex situation to simply “you’ve been misled” overlooks the full reality. This issue is far more nuanced, and I have been transparent about my challenges with sourcing clean ingredients since 2008. While I wasn’t quite prepared for the uphill battle I would encounter, I was always transparent with the fact that any ingredient sourced from the earth—plants, trees, or soil—could and would contain trace amounts of heavy metals, pesticides, synthetics, PFAS, and/or microplastics. Should it be that way? Of course not. But in today’s fragile environmental state, it happens—even with certified organic ingredients. That’s why I spoke about how important detoxing was.
Contamination can occur at many points in the process—through the machinery used for pressing, the containers where oils are stored, the equipment, not fully purging equipment between batches, or even the bottles used for packaging. There are many steps, and each one carries a small risk. I’ll never forget an inspection where a certified organic shea butter was randomly tested and found to contain minimal synthetics. The supplier had done everything right, yet the result was still there.
I created the products—but I never claimed to produce the ingredients or oils themselves. Like any responsible formulator, I relied on reputable manufacturers and suppliers, purchasing ingredients in good faith based on their stated quality. Over the years, I have developed hundreds of products using thousands of ingredients. If only several were ever found to fall short, that is a testament to the diligence, research, and strict quality standards I have upheld from day one, and for that, I deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Over the years, as I began looking more closely at ingredients and products, testing occasionally revealed results I didn’t expect. Through that process, I came to understand that the best we can achieve is ‘as clean as possible’—and even then, it will never be perfect. For those who haven’t worked directly with raw ingredients, it can be hard to imagine that you can do everything right and still find traces of contaminants. This is why so many companies nowadays are facing criticism of their products. It’s a standard no one can achieve. This was a difficult truth to accept, and it’s one of the biggest reasons why I’ve chosen not to go certified organic with farmacology.
I believed my successors were fully aware of these challenges, as demonstrated by the statement they have continued to maintain on the website—one I personally authored to ensure complete transparency regarding the complexities of sourcing clean ingredients and products. Yet, rather than fulfilling their financial obligations, which they were reminded of by attorney letters dated October 30th, 2024 and July 14, 2025, they have elected to deliberately mislead customers through unfounded accusations concerning my intentions and actions, which I find both reprehensible and profoundly unacceptable.
Here is the statement on the site: Please be advised that while all of our ingredients are sourced with a higher standard of safety and quality in mind, it is well recognized — and accepted by regulatory authorities around the world — that incidental, trace levels of a chemical may inadvertently be introduced in a product due to the complexities of the supply chain and manufacturing process. At POOFY ORGANICS, we work incredibly hard to minimize — but unfortunately, can’t eliminate — the potential that a product may contain trace levels of a chemical that has not been accounted for.
I stand firmly by the integrity of my work and the principles that have guided me throughout my career. I will not allow misinformation or misunderstandings to diminish the years of dedication, effort, and care I have invested in serving my customers with unwavering honesty and transparency. My commitment has always been to provide products that are consciously formulated and responsibly crafted- values I will continue to uphold, no matter the challenges.- K
