Mrs. Phillips’ Little Free Library is open at Rotary Park near the blue playground!

Take a book, share a book, and help us keep the love of reading alive!

We kindly ask parents to remind their children to respect the library, care for the books, and leave some for others to enjoy.

This library belongs to our community. Let’s work together to keep it beautiful for years to come! 💛

What a beautiful morning! 💛

Today, we officially dedicated Mrs. Virginia Phillips’ Little Free Library at Rotary Park, and my heart is so full.

From the mayor reading a special proclamation, to Crystal sharing Mrs. Phillips’ famous “The Gum Chewing Cow” poem that her students had to recite when caught chewing gum 😂, to her granddaughters sharing a story, every moment was so special. Watching students place books inside the library was the perfect way to honor a woman who dedicated her life to education.

This project took a village, and I want to thank everyone who helped bring it to life!

🎨 Magaly Gonzalez, a former student of Mrs. Phillips, for bringing it to life with her beautiful artwork.

🏠 Roof Time General Contractors for making sure our little library has a roof to protect all those books.

❤️ My husband Aaron and Charlie Mae for helping with all the little details.

❤️ A special thank you to Sara for donating a beautiful bench in Mrs. Phillips’ honor. Now families have a place to sit, read, and enjoy a good book together. What a meaningful addition to her legacy!

📚 Alamo Middle School, everyone who donated books, the City of Ennis, and the Parks Department for helping make this possible.

Thank you to our mayor, guest speakers, Crystal, Mrs. Phillips’ granddaughters, Autumn and Ariel, and especially the entire Phillips family for allowing us to honor someone who meant so much to this community.

And to everyone who showed up today, THANK YOU!

Mrs. Phillips may no longer be with us, but her love for reading, her students, and education will continue through every book shared in this little library.

My daughter and I stopped by GORAA Anime and Brews right here in Ennis today! Such a cool little hidden gem!

They have a shelf of manga for customers to enjoy while sipping their coffee, so One Last Chapter will be gifting them this collection of Sailor Moon manga! 💕

For over 50 years, Mrs. Virginia Phillips dedicated her life to education, inspiring generations of students and sharing her love of reading with everyone around her.

Now, we have the honor of making sure her legacy continues, one book and one reader at a time. ❤️
