This incredible program helps build a love for reading from an early age by providing FREE books to children each month. Every donation, big or small, helps make sure more little ones have the opportunity to grow their own home library and discover the magic of reading. 📖✨

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.
That idea lives here too. Every month, 1317 children in Coffee County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.
But while the books are free to our families, they are not free to our program—and we need our community’s help to keep them coming. One book cost $2.60, but thanks to the State of Alabama's pledge to cover half of that cost we are responsible for $1.30 per book, per child, per month.
As enrollment continues to grow, so does the financial responsibility of keeping this program available to every eligible child in our community. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us keep books arriving in little hands and helps build a stronger foundation for the future of Coffee County.
