This is our last week of extended hours — we’re open 8am–7pm daily through Labor Day (September 7). Starting Tuesday September 8, we’re back to our regular 8am–6pm.

Still plenty of time for more ice cream on the porch, a coffee for the drive home, or a stop on your way up 410. Come make it count.

A cancellation freed up a single night at Wapiti Basecamp — check in Friday, check out Saturday morning.

Drive up after work (or better yet, skip work!), coffee on the porch in the morning, and be at a Mt. Rainier trailhead before the lots and trails fill. And, beat the holiday crowds. Sometimes one night up on 410 is the whole point and all you need.

The mountains are still calling! 🌲

While the Sunrise area of Mount Rainier is currently closed due to the wildfire, there are still plenty of reasons to head up Highway 410 and spend the day in the mountains.

🥾 Hike the beautiful trails around Crystal & Greenwater
🌲 Explore Greenwater Lakes and the surrounding National Forest
🏔️ Enjoy incredible mountain views and a scenic drive up Highway 410

🌼 Wildflower Season is Blooming on the Sunrise Side of Mount Rainier! 🌼

Summer is one of the most spectacular times to visit the Sunrise area of Mount Rainier National Park. As the snow melts, alpine meadows come alive with brilliant displays of colorful wildflowers set against unforgettable mountain views.

If you’re exploring Sunrise, keep an eye out for:

❤️ Pink Mountain Heather
🤍 Tiger Lilies
💛 Smooth Mountain Dandelion
🌾 Beargrass
🌸 Magenta Paintbrush and other alpine blooms

Some of our favorite places to enjoy the flowers include the Grand Park, Silver Forest Trail, Naches Peak Loop and portions of the Mount Fremont Lookout Trail—all offering incredible scenery and amazing photo opportunities.

🌿 Please help protect these fragile alpine meadows by staying on marked trails and leaving the flowers for everyone to enjoy.

Everyone loves a good surprise. Well, SURPRISE — we’re staying open later. 🌲

Starting tomorrow, Wapiti Outdoors is open 8am–7pm, every day. That’s an extra hour of slow mountain mornings and golden-hour evenings up on 410 — more time for a fresh cup, a last-minute trail snack, or the bag of coffee you forgot on the way up. Or, a little extra time to get down off the mountain.

Summer in the mountains is booking up fast! 🏔️

Wapiti Basecamp is nearly full for July and August - which tells you something about how good a Mt. Rainier summer really is. Quiet trails, cool mornings, and the kind of unplugged escape that’s getting harder to find.
