National Indoor Plant Week promotes the importance of live plants in interior spaces and encourages people to place more plants in their homes and offices. Indoor plants are more than just décor that make a space look nice. They create oxygen, clean the air and remove carbon dioxide, reduce noise pollution and keep us connected with nature.

Anyone can celebrate the week and to do so, you just need to find out what kind of indoor plant you like and purchase that plant! There are wide varieties of different indoor plants, so all you have to do is to choose one that is aesthetically pleasing and one that you think you can easily care for. Some easy starter plants for a first time indoor plant owner would be spider plant, pothos, zz plant, Chinese evergreens and snake plant.

It's National Honey Bee Day today! Let’s celebrate and show our appreciation for the hardworking honeybees, that work so hard to produce honey after pollinating so many fruits and vegetables. This day was first established in 2009 for beekeepers, as a way to promote honey and to encourage educational programs, but this is too special a day to limit to the beekeepers.

Here's a little tidbit that you probably didn't know; to get a pound of honey, honey bees need to gather nectar from two million flowers. A single bee will gather just a 1/2 teaspoon of honey in its lifetime. After all of this hard work, honeybees deserve this special day of recognition!

Here are some ways to enjoy National Honey Bee Day:

Have some honey today, while learning more about bees as pollinators.
Do your part to protect honey bee hives and populations.
If you are in a rural area, consider maintaining hives of your own.

Experienced gardeners know that zucchini is one of the most prolific plants in all of the gardening world. A single plant produces a seemingly endless supply of fruit. A small row of zucchini plants has the potential to end world hunger.

By now, those who grow zucchini will have an endless supply that they have no way of using. Even after using them for every meal, dessert or snack that can be thought of.
Zucchini growers become desperate, as they try to give zucchini away to family, friends, and everyone they encounter. Well, desperate times call for desperate measures. Here are some ideas on how to have fun with this day:

As the title of this holiday suggests, stealthily deposit some of your fresh garden zucchini on your neighbor’s porch or front step.
You can also make some zucchini bread or another dessert or snack to leave on their porch.
