My name is Laura Nelson, but growing up, my family always called me "Laura Belle". I've loved drawing and art all my life, but really fell in love with painting while taking classes in college. I love finding old "junk" and giving it a new life. I also love finding bargains, digging and "picking" for fun, unusual things. And I love seeing people enjoy the new things and art that I create!

Several years ago, Lonesome Loyd surprised me by having wood grain panels put on our 2002 Suburban. I had a 1963.5 Volkswagen Beetle in high school, my first car….and it had faux wood paneled sides, like a woody wagon. “Woody”….i loved that car. So I always wanted my suburban to have wood panels…and my sweet husband made that happen. I LOVED my Suburban. I’m very sad to see her go, but we are in a transitional period of reducing down to essential vehicles. So long, sweet Burb. I know you will be taken care of. 🩷

Soooo…..I’m feeling this deep need for change (this often happens to me in the summer because it’s miserable to be outside, or do pretty much anything, so I have to find ways to feel like I’m making progress without dying)….AND, I need to find inexpensive changes. SO…I decide to change things like bedding, shower curtains and possibly paint colors.

I changed out my shower curtain, which I never felt 100% about. And the rug, which was tiny and ALWAYS looked dirty. 🫣. I’m still not super satisfied, and may do something crazy tomorrow, so stay tuned!!

Lonesome Loyd’s and my younger daughter told us she was pregnant on Christmas Eve. Due on July 23rd. We just had her shower on June 6th (Saturday). Monday, June 8th, our daughter was experiencing high blood pressure, and was admitted to the hospital. Ultimately, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia, transferred to another hospital, and delivered our sweet Della via c-section Tuesday afternoon. God is so good. Everyone is doing great! It was scary, and exciting. Lots of prayers, and thanksgiving. Little Della and her mama are troopers. We are so excited to welcome grandbaby number five!! She is precious.
