From GML Rock and Art collection of saved specimens. Texas Springs, NV Pink (lavender) chalcedony petrified wood cut/polished face specimen.

Texas Springs pink chalcedony petrified wood—often called Texas Spring pink limb casts—is a unique fossilized material made of pure pink agate formed inside volcanic ash cavities.

Formation and Geology Volcanic Origin: Ancient tree limbs and roots near Jackpot, Nevada, were buried and burned by volcanic activity in the Miocene epoch.

Limb Casts: The burning wood left empty hollow molds or cavities in the surrounding Jarbridge Rhyolite Formation.

Mineral Replacement: Groundwater rich in silica filled these empty spaces, forming cryptocrystalline quartz known as chalcedony and pink agate that preserved the outer bark texture.

You probably won't find any pink wood at your local shop, but you'll find a few boxes not looked at in ten years, awaiting a new residence:
