Not all rotary cutters are created equal, and the size of your blade matters more than most quilters realize. The small 28mm blade handles detail work and tiny pieces with precision. The large 60mm blade is your best friend when you are cutting through multiple layers or heavier fabric. And the middle 45mm blade is the reliable everyday go-to that earns its place in every sewing room. We carry all three sizes and replacement blades in the shop and online.

Sometimes a girl just needs a new bowl in her life! 😂❤️ The pattern is the Goodness Bowl. Easy to make, easy take along project since it’s sewn by hand. I cheated and topstitched the inner and outer bowls together at the top edge for better security…. and for those who know me well, I’m not a huge fan of handwork. Sewing machines were made for a very good reason! It is Finished Friday, and we are showing off Marti's latest finish. This king-sized quilt was a fun creative challenge. The customer came in with his fabric already chosen and gave Marti full creative freedom on the design. She came up with something efficient, beautiful, and perfectly suited to what he brought in, adding just the inner border and binding fabric to pull it all together. Karen Abrahamovich did the quilting, and it is absolutely perfect.

We just made up a fresh batch of our Ruby Star Moon Cake Quilt Kit, and we are pretty excited about this one. We hand-picked a fun selection of Ruby Star Society fabrics, pulled 36 coordinated 10-inch squares, and bundled them with the Moon Cake pattern so all you have to do is sew.

It makes a perfect baby or floor quilt for little ones, and because it is built around precut squares, it is a great stash buster too. Not ready to make the quilt just yet? The 36 squares are also a beautiful addition to your Ruby Star Society stash on their own.
