This weekend's estate sale will take place here, at 52 Fair Street, Guilford—home in the 19th century to a cabinetmaking dog who turned a lathe (no joke). White pine desk box in Windsor green paint, New England, dating from the early to mid 19th century. Fresh to the market from an old Norwich, Connecticut family collection. 16 1/2" L x 14" D x 8" H.

Unusual sheet iron and blown glass whale oil lamp with a spherical fount and double wick burner, American, dating about 1830. The iron was likely tinned originally. Fresh to the market from an old East Haddam, Connecticut private collection of country Americana.

The Bulkley family desk and bookcase, cherry with white pine secondary woods, Connecticut River Valley, c. 1790. Notable features include the gadrooned base, scroll pediment, double dentil cornice, and pinwheel and quarter round inlays. Reputedly made for Captain George Bulkley who was born in Wethersfield in 1762, this exceptional piece has descended in his family and is being offered for sale for the first time.
