It’s Beer, Brats & Bands At This Weekend’s Autumn Gold!

Local music icon and professional musician Cowboy Brad Fitch returns to the Autumn Gold stage this weekend with his TropiCowboy Band. Fitch and his band play a variety of music including western, folk, original songs, and of course, John Denver classics.

It’s all part of the long-running Estes Park fall festival, Autumn Gold. Billed as Beer, Brats and Bands, Autumn Gold kicks off Saturday, September 24 at 11:00 am in Bond Park in downtown Estes Park and runs through Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Admission if free to music, kids activities, and antique car show.

The complete band lineup is as follows:

Saturday, September 24:
11:30-1:30 Brad Fitch and the TropiCowboy Band
2:00-4:00 Dakota Blu – Country Rock Band
4:30-6:30 Wendy Woo – Poly-Ethnic Power Pop

Sunday, September 25:
11:30-2:00 Progressive Jazz Rock
2:30-5:00 Colorado's Tribute to the EAGLES

Food:
In addition to the 2,400 brats and hot dogs that will be served, a number of food vendors will offer kettle korn, funnel cakes, ice cream, roasted corn, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and roasted nuts.

Family Fun:
There’s plenty for the kids to do including face painting, bag toss, air bounce course, and a jenga-toppling tower.

Raffle:
The Autumn Gold Raffle features a $5,000 grand prize, $2,500 second prize, and five $100 winners. The drawing will be Sunday afternoon. Winner need not be present to win. The odds of winning one of the two major prizes are about 1 in 400. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Autumn Gold.

Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary sponsors Autumn Gold. Proceeds help fund scholarships for Estes Park high school seniors as well as grants to local non-profits and community organizations.

Sitting in Bond Park enjoying a brat and beer while listening to live music is an Estes Park fall favorite thing to do. Of course, you don’t have to sit. Dancing in front of the music stage is permitted and highly encouraged. Bring your own chairs or blanket. Sunrise Rotary also provides bleachers under the sun or picnic tables under our shaded food tent.

For the last several years this Saturday has been the most visited day in Rocky Mountain National Park because of fall colors, the elk rut, and National Public Lands Day. If you're headed up to visit, expect the park to be busy. Plan ahead, expect congestion, and be patient to ensure the safety of all. ch

FAQ FRIDAY Every Kid In A Park Passes
Every child is born a naturalist. His eyes are, by nature, open to the glories of the stars, the beauty of the flowers, and the mystery of life. - R. Search

Open your child’s awareness to the wonders of nature by visiting public lands!

As the new school year starts, a new year for Every Kid In A Park passes (EKIP) also starts. The passes for children who were in 4th grade last year expired on August 31. The new EKIP pass year started on September 1. So if your child is now in 4th grade (including home-schooled children), anytime until August 31, 2017, they can go to the https://www/everykidinapark.gov website, complete an online educational activity, print out a voucher, and bring it to any federal lands fee area, including Rocky Mountain National Park, to receive their free pass. As long as the child is in the passenger vehicle with you, everyone in the vehicle gets in free!

Help inspire your children to experience, love, enjoy, and protect this incredibly awesome world around us!
