Pizza and a movie? Sign me up! 🍕
🌕 Phone home. Bring the kids. Grab some pizza. 🍕
Week two of our 80s Adventure Series is here, and we’re celebrating the most beloved alien in movie history. Join us THIS WEDNESDAY (June 24) at the Eureka Theater for a screening of Spielberg’s masterpiece, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
And here's a fun fact to make this screening even more special: E.T. didn't just land anywhere—he crash-landed right here in our backyard. The opening forest scenes were filmed in the redwoods of Crescent City, and later, when E.T. was found lying weak and dying in a creek bed, that was shot right off Highway 299 in Humboldt. Even his iconic call to "phone home" echoed from inside Fort Dick. So when you watch this on the big screen, you're not just seeing a movie—you're seeing our home turf like you've never seen it before. 🌲📞
We'll have the Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission on hand to talk about it!
(we may even have a little something special in the lobby again for selfies...)
From the flying bicycle to that glowing heart, this is the film that taught a generation that home is wherever love is. Yes, you will cry when the flowers bloom. Yes, it’s worth it. 💔
The Details:
