This is how it should be.

Two brothers sharing their birthday cake.

Instead, I had to ask ChatGPT to create this for me.

Their birthdays are only (one year and) 9 days apart, and this is exactly how I always pictured celebrating them... together.

And it makes me so sad that this isnt our reality.

I know I made the decision I had to make. I know why Gomez can't live here. I know Vincent deserves to feel safe in his own home, and Gomez deserves a home where he isn't constantly put in a situation he can't handle. I can know all of those things and still absolutely hate it.

Because look at them.
This is how it should be.

I don't want two separate homes. I don't want separate birthdays and visits and figuring out which dog is going to be where. I want my two boys under my roof. I want stupid dumb pictures whenever I feel like taking them without AI making them. I want the life I thought the three of us were going to have.

And today I realized something that sucks even more:

I don't have one single picture of me with both of my boys. Not one.

I have approximately 47 billion pictures of them. Pictures of them separately. Pictures of them together. But not one picture of the three of us.

I really thought I had more time. Who would have thought I'd only have 10 months to have my two boys under the same roof?!

I'm sad. I'm angry. I'm still pi**ed that things turned out this way... even if I know it was the right decision.

I love them both more than anything.

Buyers 🤦🏻‍♀️

The pictures clearly show there are no insoles.

The pictures show the Velcro holding just fine.

So neither one of these things should actually qualify as INAD... but we all know better.

🙄 Whatever. Send them back.

It's been 3 days and no return request started 🤔

Did you know eBay offers multi-item discounts now?

They sure do! 🙌

And I’m pretty sure it helped me make this sale!

This buyer grabbed multiple shirts from my store and saved 15% off my marked price on each one because he bought multiple.

Would he have purchased all of them without that discount? I doubt it.

This way, he saves some money, I move multiple pieces of inventory in one transaction, and I only have to pack and ship one order.

This order turned an $18 investment into $95. Thats $77 profit! Ill take it all day everyday 🤘

If you haven’t turned on eBay’s multi-item discounts yet, it might be worth playing around with. It was really easy to set up!

I actually dont know how long Ive been doing this weight loss thing. 4 or 5 months maybe?

Ive eaten nothing but chicken and rice, protein bars, Greek yogurt with granola, and chicken Caesar salads the entire time.

Can't even have my salads anymore 🙄

Im down 18 pounds of my 25ish goal 🤘

So um... I had Whopper today.

And it was ahhhhmazing.

Make it make sense...

I know it doesnt really matter. But its just the principle here.

Literally says hes "impressed" and the item is exceptionally clean and looks exactly like the pictures.... seems like a glowing review, right?

Hmmm... if only there were a way to double (quadruple) check the color of the shirt 🤔

I honestly don't know how I could have made it any more clear without sounding ridiculous.

The title said it was blue. The item specifics said it was blue. The description said it was blue TWICE. I basically ran out of ways to say "Hey... this shirt is blue."

Also... umm... IT LOOKS BLUE!

What color do you see?

I feel... I dont even know how to feel right now.

Gaslit? By myself... ?

I think I may have spent the last several years blaming the wrong body part. 🤦‍♀️

A few years ago I had a microdiscectomy because a herniated disc was compressing my sciatic nerve. That's when my MRI showed just how messed up my lower back really is.

My surgeon told me then, "At some point, you're going to need an L5/S1 fusion." And basically told me that him and I will be seeing a lot of each other for the rest of life. My back is effed, to put it bluntly.

Ever since that conversation, I've just assumed the pain that keeps dropping me to the floor and rendering me useless for days was coming from that level of my spine.

A little over a year ago I was in a lot of pain and went back to him to see what we could do. He said he wanted to put it off but he would do it if he HAD to... but lets try some injections first. The injections didnt work, but i didnt follow up with him because I also wanted to try to put off the surgery.

Mom and Dad have reached the point where they're basically begging me to just have the surgery. But its not a quick and easy microdiscectomy like the last one.

A fusion is a pretty big and gnarly surgery. Days in the hospital. Months and months of physical therapy. Up to a year until youre "back to normal." And like 50% of the time it doesn't work or makes people worse. Truthfully, I'm scared as hell to do it, even though I know I cant go on like this.

So today I asked ChatGPT, "At what point do you KNOW you need an L5/S1 fusion?"
It asked me what my symptoms were. I explained where my pain is (shown in red on the picture) and how when its really bad I cannot put any weight on that left leg.

Its response was basically...
"Ummm... hey dummy... those aren't really L5/S1 fusion symptoms. If those are your main complaints, you probably shouldn't get that surgery. It sounds a lot more like your sacroiliac (SI) joint."

EXCUSE ME?!

I've spent years assuming all this pain was coming from my spine when it might actually be my SI joint causing most of the misery.

I'm definitely not diagnosing myself or taking AI advice over my doctor's. But it did make me realize I may have been connecting dots that don't necessarily go together. Looks like I need to have another conversation with my doctor.

The more I research it, my symptoms definitely align more with SI dysfunction than they do L5/S1.

And the good news... if it is, in fact, an SI issue, the surgery to fix that is minimally invasive. That sounds way better than a big gnarly spine surgery!

Has anyone here dealt with SI joint dysfunction? Did it feel like lower back pain that could drop you to the floor at any given moment?

My back is out... again.

So today's plans are murder shows and my ready-to-list book.

On a more serious note... has anyone here had an L5/S1 fusion? Or any spinal fusion, really?

My back has been a disaster for years. I know I need this surgery. My surgeon has told me I need this surgery. But he's also told me I'm too young to start fusing discs because once we start, it's going to continue up my spine one disc at a time.

I've put it off as long as I can, but lately I'm spending more days down than up. It feels like I'm hurting more often than I'm able to actually live my life. My mom and dad are basically begging me to have the surgery at this point because they're tired of watching me go through this.

I'd love to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. Was it worth it? How was recovery? If you had to do it over again, would you?
