☕🌴 SIP WITH ME SATURDAY 🌴☕

In honor of Black Music Month, I’m reflecting on the music, rituals, and traditions that have helped shape who I am.

As a Panamanian Afro-Latina, my soundtrack has always been a blend of influences. Some of it came from Black television and culture that made me feel seen. Some of it came from Panama, where artists like El General helped create a sound that would influence generations to come.

Today, that connection looks a little different.

It’s a cup of Café Durán from Panama.

It’s taking a few moments to slow down and appreciate the people, places, and experiences that helped make me who I am.
