Over this past month we have been overwhelmed with your kindness and support as we close the doors of Karama. The ending of a chapter is never easy, but we are full of gratitude for the lasting impact made possible only with your years of partnership.

Together we have been able to invest over $1,391,127 into our artisans, helping them grow their businesses and provide resources for themselves and their families. We have given over $300,000 to Young Life to send 6,000 kids to camp for an opportunity to laugh, learn and hear the Gospel.

All of your purchases and donations have directly contributed to changing so many lives. Moving forward, you can continue to support artisans and dignified work through Mercy House Global.

We are so grateful for these past 20 years and expect that the future is even brighter.

As we close this chapter in Karama’s story, we want to spotlight Phililsters Mmbonnehas, our Production Manager in Nairobi, Kenya. She worked closely with our jewelry artisans in Kibera, reviewing and coordinating all details to ensure the highest product quality. Phililsters has been a source of continual joy on our weekly staff calls and has supported Karama and the artisans so very well. We are excited that Philisters will continue to manage the orders with the jewelry artisans in Kenya for Mercy House.

Karama would not have been possible without our amazing volunteers, our “Karama Mamas.” Each of these women made an impact through their time and prayers, as they diligently prepared each of our products for retail. We are grateful for all of the memories made around the table and will cherish them forever. ❤️
