Mother’s Day brunch, handled. 💐🍳
Skip the basics and make something everyone will remember with this Conecuh Ultimate Hash Brown Casserole. It’s hearty, cheesy and full of that hickory-smoked flavor that brings everyone to the table.
Conecuh Ultimate Hash Brown Casserole
Ingredients:
• 4 cups diced Conecuh Hickory Smoked Sausage
• 1 cup diced red bell pepper
• 1 cup diced yellow onion
• 2 tbsp chopped canned green chiles
• 4 tbsp unsalted butter
• 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
• 2 cups whole milk
• 2 cups chicken broth
• 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (divided)
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 tsp kosher salt
• 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
• 1 package (30 oz) frozen hash browns, thawed
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 3-quart baking dish.
Cook sausage until browned, then set aside.
Sauté bell pepper, onion and chiles until tender.
Make a roux with butter and flour, then add milk and broth. Simmer until thickened.
Stir in 3 cups cheese, sour cream, salt and pepper.
Combine everything with hash browns, transfer to dish and top with remaining cheese.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
