Come see me this weekend at the fourth annual Boozar at Bentley Mall Saturday 10-7pm and Sunday 11-6pm.

It’s the end of the year and that means deductibles restart in January. I was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and started on a bunch of expensive medications. Your support in the coming months will help me cover those expenses until we reach our medical cap for the year. I appreciate everyone’s continued support even when I have slowed down these past few months. Turns out I was a lot sicker than I thought and I will likely continue to hold a smaller stock of items while I give my body time to heal and kick this disease into remission.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted an update on the boys. Buckle up! It’s a lot.

End of summer the boys were rough housing and it went a tad too far causing a Salter Harris Fracture to Atticus’s leg. He was such a trooper. I didn’t realize for 3 days something was wrong. He wasn’t complaining too much so I just assumed it was normal CP pain. He had a cast for 4 weeks and got it off right before school started but he wasn’t able to walk on it for a couple more weeks. Finally this week we returned the wheelchair and walker and he’s doing so much better.

With school started Rowan went to a new school this year leaving behind his favorite para. We had attempted to do a warm hand off at the end of last year to make this year a success. Didn’t seem to work. We got an alarming message last week saying he eloped to the highway (6+ miles away) but turns out it was just the hallway. Whew. I was able to rally his care team over night for an emergency meeting at the school where I could advocate for the things we discussed at the warm hand off that were dismissed. Today was day 2 of using those tools and Rowan finally feels safe enough at school to participate again. We will be following this closely so we can put it in his IEP officially in a couple weeks if it continues to go well.

Rowans second grade spring concert last night. He has grown so much this year. I’m so proud of him for showing up this year even on the hard days.

It’s our month everyone! Not only is it Month of the military child it’s also HIE AWARENESS month. If you’re new here, welcome! HIE is the reason salmon society exists. Atticus has been kicking butt and crushing goals for FOUR years. He’s not holding back and gives it his all at every appointment. Disability who? I could not be more proud of him.

I still am holding onto some info about Atticus until we get to see the new specialists joining our team but I have a small Rowan update!

Rowan’s genetic testing for psychotropic medications came back and it was SUPER enlightening. He’s definitely my kid 😂😂 with this information we were able to wean him off of his current medications which were flagged as red (don’t use, potentially dangerous, rapid metabolism, higher than usual serum levels) and get him started on a sleep aid that works with his body. He slept so hard last night and didn’t want to wake up this morning. I’m so glad he’s finally getting rest. The current plan is to start a new ADHD medication next month that will work better with his body as well. He also got a new feeding therapy referral so we can address his ARFID again and hopefully make new progress on that.

I can across this on a friends post this morning. This is something very near and dear to me. I couldn’t save Becca and her kids, I don’t think any of us could but we can make a difference here. Please consider helping this woman and her children remain safe from abuse.

Off to his second year of preK! While we miss his awesome teachers from North Pole I’m so excited to see what he learns this year. His teachers have some fun things planned.
