Curly Girl Knits Knitted accessories from a local "Curly Girl" in Fairbanks, Alaska (formerly Ketchikan) I'm a fan of making hats and cowls, but nothing is off-limits!

My grandma taught me to knit when I was in high school, but I dropped the habit due to school and extracurricular activities...now that I'm out of college and working, knitting has become a creative outlet and way to unwind at the end of the day! Plus, Ketchikan's rain forces one to pick up indoor hobbies...

Practice makes perfect, which is why I like to try lots of different patterns and yarns. Please enjoy my knitted treasures--treat yourself to a comfy, cute and warm accessory!

Tomorrow is already school picture day 😱 and I’ve had a trend the past few years to wear a handknit sweater from the past year… I finished a few this summer, but avoided weaving in the ends like the plague until tonight, desperate to meet my self-imposed goal. Unintentionally jumping on the as my last cast-on before school(s) start up again! This is a bit of a nostalgia project, as the red is called Garnet, which was my grandma’s birthstone color and she taught me to knit. The grey is called Ketchikan, which is home 🫶

Handdyed yarn is unique, which can be tricky to match skeins, so I was able to arrange skeins into a semi-fade. Definitely a new fav piece 😍😍😍
