One Year of Alaskan Mystic Wonders -Thank You

Yesterday was a day we will never forget.

Our 1 Year Anniversary celebration was an incredible success, but what means the most wasn’t the celebration itself, it was all of you who showed up to celebrate with us.

The day was filled with laughter, hugs, stories, congratulations, and even a few tears. We were completely blown away by the love and support that filled the shop.

Time after time, our community shows up for Alaskan Mystic Wonders and for the Gather family, and we want you to know that we do not take that lightly.

This little shop started as a dream, and being able to share that dream with all of you has become something far greater than we ever imagined.

Every visit, every purchase, every conversation, every recommendation to a friend, and every person who simply walks through our doors and spends a little time with us has helped make Alaskan Mystic Wonders what it is today.

We love and appreciate each and every one of you more than we can put into words.

One of the most special parts of our anniversary has been reading the messages left on our First Year of Wonder Wall. Seeing, in your own words, what Alaskan Mystic Wonders means to you has been absolutely amazing and incredibly emotional.

We’re going to leave the First Year of Wonder up in the shop a little longer, so if you haven’t had a chance to sign it yet, please stop in and add your message.

To everyone who came out yesterday, congratulated us, shared memories with us, participated in the fun, and helped us celebrate this milestone thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

CRYSTAL OF THE WEEK: SERAPHINITE

Some crystals are beautiful because they're colorful. Others are beautiful because they're rare.

Seraphinite is one of those rare finds.

Unlike many crystals that are mined in several countries, genuine gem quality Seraphinite comes almost exclusively from one region near Lake Baikal in Siberia.

That limited source, combined with today's import and supply challenges, has made it one of the more difficult crystals for shops like ours to obtain.

What makes it so special?

Look closely.

Those shimmering silver patterns aren't painted, dyed, or enhanced. They're naturally occurring mica inclusions that create an optical effect called chatoyancy the same phenomenon responsible for the "cat's eye" appearance in certain gemstones. As you turn the stone in the light, the silvery feathers seem to come alive.

These delicate patterns are why Seraphinite is often called the "Angel Wing Stone."
