Fairbanks-area Spring Trails Report 06/19/2026 - last one for the season

New reports from Ester Dome Singletrack Trails (all trails are now open), Skyline Ridge Park (all trails, including After Hours and Goldstream Connector, are ready), UAF trails (trails are mostly ready, but wet spots will persist for some time) and Chena River State Recreation Area (Chena Dome Trail report).

This will be my last trails report for the season. Some trails, especially low-lying trails, are still wet and will likely remain wet and soft for quite a long time. Our heavy-snow winter and cold spring really did a number on some trails. Please respect the closed signs and ribbon.

A link to the full report is below. Please share this where appropriate.

Thank you for being patient and careful! The more we take care of trails in the spring, the better they are in the summer and the longer they will last over many years.

Using soft, muddy trails can leave track and ruts that dry and make the trails difficult to use in summer. Those tracks and ruts also hold or channel water, which can increase erosion. Thank you for your help in keeping our trails in good shape!
