🏆Another Nebraska State Fair Champion Headed to Austin, MN🏆

We posted a video of "Zoey" the other day not knowing she'd have an absolutely stellar Nebraska State Fair. This gilt is a great example of always keeping your end goal in mind when it comes to showpigs. Time and time again, I told our girls to just be patient as this gilt's best days were going to be when she hit over 300lbs, and she has definitely lived up to that Hampshire trait.

The mother of this gilt came from our friends at Baade Genetics, and her first litter hit it out of the park! We'll get the backdrop pictures posted soon, but Zoey's littermate brother "Frank" was just named the Champion Hampshire Market Barrow at the Nebraska State Fair's FFA Show, and her littermate sister was crowned Reserve Champion Hampshire Market Hog at the State Fair's Open Jackpot Show and Champion in the All Other Breeds class at the Nebraska Swine Futurity Show annually held at the State Fair as well.

💥Nebraska State Fair Update💥

“Blessed” is really the only word I can use to describe how we feel after an unbelievable Nebraska State Fair!

We will post all of the official backdrop photos and more State Fair winners soon, but I wanted to get a few posts up on a pair of gilts that will head to Austin, MN for the National Barrow Show later this week. As Judge Kane Austin said, we “not messin’ around” when it comes to the quality of this Tamworth female.

It is really hard to let this one go, but this gilt has nothing but potential for her next owner.

We have gotten way behind in posting winners this summer, but I couldn’t help but grab a quick video of our National Barrow Show Hampshire gilt entry for 2026.

This (Core Power x Heaven Can Wait) gilt has been what all good Hamp gilts are…slow maturing. However, as I’ve told my kids all year, when this one goes, she’s going to turn a few heads. She is cool fronted, big legged, and can go all day.

What a run over Memorial Day weekend. Four shows (only three for our girls…Boone County Swine-a-Rama, Cornhusker Classic Day 1/Day 2, and the Osborne County, KS Memorial Day Spectacular) with multiple banners at each show.

It was definitely a busy and rewarding weekend, and we are so grateful for our entire show family for all of their help over these crazy days. Back at it again this weekend!
