Doors to my highly anticipated program open next week! BUT first, a few fun things to note.

✨What exactly IS From Concept to Collection?

It’s the only course that shows stationery designers how to design and run a successful semi-custom wedding stationery collection.

And it’s for total beginners & established stationery designers who want to expand their brand’s reach, increase traffic, and reach their full potential as a stationery designer.

I can’t wait to share more details soon!

✨ Second, I’m kicking off the celebration with a FREE mini course to give you a sneak peek at some of the strategies you’ll learn inside C2C.

✨ What’s your next step?

Comment “simplify” to join my free training, and get a sneak peek inside my brand new program.

❇️More of a laid-back bride?❇️ A more casual wording sample is below.⁣⁣👇🏻

👉🏻But first: It’s important to make sure reception-only guests know that a marriage ceremony will not take place.

Likewise, it's important for guests invited to the ceremony and reception to be aware they can attend both celebrations.⁣⁣💒

➡️That's why wording for each card is so important.⁣

⁣✍️🏻Here is a more casual wording style for your reception invitations and ceremony inserts:

❇️⁣Informal Reception Invitation: With great joy / Mr. and Mrs. John Smith / kindly invite you to a reception / celebrating the marriage of their daughter / Anne Elizabeth and James Lucas Williams / date, time, venue⁣⁣

❇️Informal Ceremony Insert (keep in mind it is redundant to list the couple's names again): Please join us for an intimate marriage ceremony / date, time, venue⁣⁣

➡️I know wedding invitation wording + etiquette can be so complicated, no matter if you're a black-tie or laid back bride.

✨Imagine being able to hand off your wedding invitation to an etiquette-obsessed, detail-minded, classically hospitable Southern gal who can help you create the wedding stationery suite of your dreams...⁣✨⁣

Hi, I'm Valerie! I’m here to help you create the perfect wedding invitation—even if you’re not paper obsessed or well-versed in etiquette—so you can check them off your list and keep waltzing toward your wedding day.⁣⁣🎉

✨Down here!✨ If you made it this far, I have some bonus tips below.👇🏻

❇️To save on postage and added stationery costs, you can merge some wedding details cards together.

➡For instance, include hotel room block and ceremony transportation information on the same wedding details card.

❇️Include meal options on your rsvp cards when needed, but you don't need to list out the specific details of each course.

➡Use simple options like "beef, fish, or vegan". Meal icons are also a super cute option!

❇️You really only need two (mmmaaaaaybe three) additional insert cards in addition to the main invitation. (And one of those should be your rsvp!)🥂

➡Any more than that, and your envelope risks being too bulky for post office mail machines and could rip during the sorting process.😬✉️

✨I hope this helps!✨ Follow along for more stationery tips and etiquette hacks.

While you don't want too many wedding invitations, you also want to make sure you have enough with a handful to spare.

➡️So, how many wedding invitations do you actually need?

✅One invitation per household.

Keep in mind that single roommates living together or any household member of the age of 18 will need their own invitation.💌

✅Five extras for keepsakes and for your wedding photographer.

Keep 2-3 invitations for yourself, your mom, and your partner's mom. Share 1-2 invitations with your photographer so they can photograph it on the big day.👰🏻

✅Five to ten extras may be needed in case anything gets lost in the mail or if any guests are added at the last minute.

✅You might also consider ordering 20% extra envelopes, if you are planning to address by hand or if you are hiring a calligrapher.✍️🏻

You've spent hours researching wedding invitation wording and designs…

Not to mention planning (fretting over!?) your guest list: trying to figure out if you're doing this right while searching for paper to match your wedding’s aesthetic—it’s a tall task.

Let me help: Here are seven things you should do before ordering wedding invitations.

These seven things to consider will help ease your stress when it comes to stationery, which–let's face it–is a small, but oh-so-important detail for your big day.

Finalize your guest list.
Collect guest address. (You guys, this takes so long! Start early.)
Determine how many invitations you need. (Remember to count by household, not by number of invited guests.)
Determine your stationery budget. It's recommended to plan for 3-7% of your entire wedding budget, but this will depend on your needs.
Research stationery vendors and order samples. This is an important step in making sure you get exactly what you want.
Set a date for mailing out invitations–usually 10-12 weeks in advance of your event.
Book stationery 5-6 months in advance, or sooner.

Care to sneak a peek at the Camilla Suite?

When creating this collection, I wanted it to feel a little bit French, a little bit New Orleans, and a whole lotta southern.

I pulled inspiration from architecture and even my favorite hotel in New Orleans, where my husband and I once thought about getting married. It truly is in the details with this one!

→ Swipe to see my mini mood board.🥂

Eleven new collections are coming to BLP in February, including this one!

Three Things That'll Make Your Invitations Look Ah-Mazing!

👉 Wax seals. The OG of invitation elegance, wax seals have been around since the 16th century.

Add some old world charm to your invitation envelopes with these easy-to-apply, peel-and-stick seals. Click the link in bio to get your own. ;)

👉Vintage Stamps. Kinda cliche, but it really is all in the details! I use them every year for Christmas cards, birthday invitations, and any other correspondence I send out.

Honestly, regular stamps really just will not do for me! ;) Unless, of course, they're those cute ones from Rifle Paper.

👉Calligraphy. I have a go-to calligrapher for special occasions, like the birth announcements/Christmas cards I mailed out earlier this year.

I've used her for years, and so many people tell me they still have some of the envelopes she calligraphed!

"Please add 'no children' or 'adults-only' to the bottom of our wedding invitation."

"I want it to read: Mr. John and Mrs. Sue Wilson request the pleasure, etc. ..."

Those tidbits above are real invitation wording revisions I've received from clients over the past seven years of business.

AND, sorry-not-sorry, they are incorrect.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Listen, I get it! On my own wedding invitations, I put an "and" in the year. I had no idea that was wrong.

But when you do this for a living–and when you take your job incredibly seriously–you can invest in the right tools to help you learn all about wedding invitation grammar.

✍ So, that's exactly what I did.

When you book with BLP, you'll be working with a stationer who has completed multiple correspondence etiquette courses and has Crane & Co.'s Wedding Blue Book in her back pocket.

What does that mean for you?

I go beyond design to make sure your invitation is perfect.

You can rest easy knowing you'll get wedding stationery wording that's error-free, easy to read and pleasing to your guests.

And the best part is? Your BLP invitations will arrive prim, pretty and perfect.
