It’s official: Retro Skate is under new ownership as of today. 🛼🎉

We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and share a little about the people behind the next chapter of Retro Skate. ✨

If you don’t know us, we’re Shane and Brittney Carpenter. We both grew up here in Fairmont, so this community has always been our home. 🏡💙

Skating has been a part of Shane’s life for as long as he can remember. 🛼 He began skating at age two and later competed in national speed skating events. 🏆 Interestingly, skating also played a significant role in the start of our relationship, as we both worked at a local rink when we first started dating. ❤️🛼

Over the past few years, Shane has been building his career in real estate, but when he found out Retro Skate was going to close, we decided to purchase it. 🏠➡️🛼 It felt like something we had to do, or there would never be another skating rink in Fairmont. This place has brought a lot of joy to our community, and we’re excited to help write the next chapter. ✨💙

Today, we’re parents of two boys, ages 10 and 5, who keep us busy cheering them on and coaching them in various sports. ⚽🏈📣 We know how important it is for kids to have a place where they can be kids, make friends, have fun, and create memories. ❤️

Our hope is to make the rink more than just a place to skate. 🛼 We want it to be a safe, fun, and welcoming place for kids and families in our community. 🤍✨

We’re truly thrilled about what’s coming up and deeply appreciate all the support we’ve already received. 💙 We have a lot of ideas, a lot of work ahead of us, and most importantly, a lot of excitement about bringing Retro Skate into its next chapter! 🎉🛼✨

We hope you’ll come skate and/or bounce with us, support us, and most of all, make some memories with us. 🛼💙✨
