I painted this little cabinet for my own house about a year ago. Today, I’m saying goodbye to it & selling it on Facebook Marketplace. Not because I don’t want it anymore, but because I’ve decided it’s not coming with me to my next chapter.
The last few years have been life changing in ways I never expected. Now, I’m in a season of selling my home, downsizing, and letting go of a lot of things that have been part of my life for a long time. I’ve realized some things are easy to let go of, and some surprise me by being a lot harder.
Over the last couple of years, well, really since I closed the store, I’ve been made (sometimes painfully) aware that starting over means deciding what I want to carry with me into whatever comes next. And maybe that’s been one of the hardest parts, the decision making. What makes the cut, and what doesn’t.
I have a feeling I’m probably not the only one in this season of life.
Maybe it’s time to share a little more of what starting over looks like. The letting go, the downsizing, figuring out what stays and what goes…and eventually, making somewhere new feel like home. 🤍
